1st Lady Elder Davetta Rena Kernodle
Elder Davetta Rena Kernodle is the oldest daughter of Pastor and Lady Howard Graves, Sr.She is the mother to Howard Andre Graves who recently took a beautiful bride, Jerrica and to Kennedy Leigh Kernodle, these are the precious jewels that God gave to her. This is the joy to many of her days knowing that Andre, Kennedy and now Jerrica are three special diamonds in her crown. She is also the proud stepmother to Tyler, Kevin II and Tiyanna.Rena has been ministering the Gospel for 16 years
She was ordained an Elder in 2008 by Unity Baptist Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Graves. She served in the ministry until her husband was called to Rising Sun. She is a gifted and anointed psalmist. The ministry of music has been her love since childhood. Her ministry in the Gospel has allowed her to evangelize at many different churches through the years.
Her favorite motto is, "Lord Not My Will But Thy Will Be Done."
Even though the journey to this level of elevation has not been an easy one, she has relied on her faith in God to see her through. She understands that she is not perfect and may make a few mistakes but her promise to God and Rising Sun is to love them just the way they are, in return for them to love her just the way she is, and this way they can grow together as God sees fit. I look forward to this season and walk with Rising Sun but most importantly I look forward to our walk with God.
